Episode 41: Umbra Report

General Summary

Our Heroes were standing before their toughest foe yet. A survivor of the Long Winter, an aged orc master swordsmen. Nameless, with the closest name that can be attributed to him being that of his sword Umbra. This orc was seeking only death to a worthy foe and was left a dangerous hound left to wander until someone could put him down. Why Khundrukar? The location where most of the orcs were betrayed by the Ancient Dwarves and the grounds where the orcs took their stand against them. Back in the time when Orcs were recognized as biologically related to Elves. At least from the prospective of the orcs. The exact terms of their relationship with Nightscale were not known entirely, more that it was a beneficial relationship between both parties. The wielder of Umbra mentioned that Nightscale will finish what she needs to with "extracting" knowledge from Durgeddin, likely finishing within 12 hours. This gives our heroes a bit of a time limit if they want to find Durgeddin and intervene with this "Nightscale". The nameless warlord was granted his wish and our heroes prevailed over the wielder of Umbra. Tailiya with a bit of curiosity inspected the blade. It turns out Umbra had decided to choose Tailiya to be the new wielder of the sword. transfering memories and knowledge of its construction to Tailiya. This terrifying artifact was created by the commission of the Crimson Tyrant, Xolec during the autumn years of the Delian Order. The surviving orcs scattered to care for their dead, meanwhile our heroes stumbled upon an ancient vault. William had studied a good portion of his time on the Ancient Dwarves, with some group thinking they were able to successfully open the lock revealing treasures from an ancient time. This victory was hard fought but provided treasures and power that will have a long lasting impact on their journey.
