Episode 46-47: The Foundry Report

General Summary

Our heroes made it to the lowest levels of Khundrukar, the Foundry. Now vandalized and ruled by the Duergar Underearth Clan trying in vain to recover the spark of glory within Durgeddin's Forge. Reluctantly allied to the dragon Nightscale, providing it tribute for their lives and to live in this ancestral installation. Through diplomacy our heroes secured safe passage with the Duergar and a deal was made to allow them access to the other rooms of the Foundry and to stop the crazed Hollow Construct, Arundill. Confronting Arundill, the strange holographic being of zeros and ones, suggested that the heroes reactivated the power to the duergar rooms, giving it full access to purge the invaders. Seeing through this our heroes decided to stick with the duergar and attack the construct. In the process, their friend and ally Jareg was aged to an inch of his life in the aftermath Arundill was destroyed and separated from the installation that he connected his mind to. Now residing within the Mindstealer Sword Umbra. Where Tailiya could interrogate Arundill. Learning that Arundill, through fear and cowardice activated the system's security system during the Orchish rebellion in times of ancient past and killed the residents of Khundrukar. And in his shame he melded into the system becoming Hollow. During their exploration they encountered a strange woman in the Foundry level library named Idalla, who spun a tale of being trapped and locked within the library. This was of course a lie as the creature was an opportunist seeking prey. It locked eyes with William and charmed him and drained a portion of his life, realizing the large sized party was coming back it fled. Turns out the creature was summoned by accident from Arundill. A dangerous predator that can assume humanoid form. William will definitely not forget his first kiss. The party felt an intense rumbling. It was sure that whatever Nightscale was doing, was finishing up. It was now or never.
