Episode 59: For Dugang Report

General Summary

After helping as many as they could get to higher ground the Foursaken noticed the great dragon turtle Vor Kra, the flagship of the Manaan fleet, being towed away by enemy forces. Their only hope to rescue the beast, and of saving the crew along with Oceanus’ father Chadrax, was to board the Naiad and give chase. But they quickly discovered that doing so would be no easy task. Their first obstacle came when they encountered a sahuagin force cornering a group of goblinoid civilians. While catching Vor Kra was of great importance they couldn’t just abandon the people of Dugang. They charged headfirst into the skirmish, taking blow after blow from the invaders. The battle was bloody and victory was hard won as both Tailiya and Freaf fell to their wounds a few times. But through tenacity and teamwork they came out alive, and protected the goblinoids. Then came the matter of crossing a shark infested strait to actually reach their ship and home, the Naiad. Oceanus, overconfident in his swimming abilities, jumped in first with Tailiya right behind. Winterfell decided against gambling his life and polymorphed into a giant owl and flew himself and Freaf to the safety of the deck. Oceanus swam to a small islet to avoid the reach of the sharks, but Tailiya used all of her speed to reach the ship, but was at the mercy of those onboard to draw her up. Unfortunately, they were fighting for their lives as well from a sahuagin boarding party, and couldn’t retrieve her in time. The sharks smelled elvish blood in the water and shredded Tailiya alive. William saw the carnage and cast Hypnotic Pattern to calm the sharks long enough for her mangled body to be retrieved in time for Freaf to revivify her. With the Foursaken together again, they set sail to catch up with the captured Vor Kra. After battles with Sahuagin controlled orcas and the defensive tidal waves from those aboard Vor Kra, the Naiad adjusted their tactic to hide in a mist cloud and cut off the sahuagin before they reached Manaan. Why would the sahuagin be taking Vor Kra back to the Quaren? Will the Naiad be able to catch up in time? What awaits them aboard the back of the great dragon turtle?
