Languages of The Jade Dynasty
The two primary languages stem from the two dominating culture of Dragonborn and Elven. While common was introduced from humanity, it's ease of use and practicality made it an acceptable trade language. Though the nations main language and most of its writing is composed of Elven and Draconic scripts.
Draconic is one of the oldest known languages, it is theorized to be as old as the Language of Stars the Celestial Endless spoke. It has no official alphabet, comprising of carefully planned strokes each containing an element of meaning into a word, this requires study and memorization to recognize and read making it difficult for the common man to read Draconic. Each stroke was designed originally to be etched with the claws so that Dragon, Dragonborn and Kobold alike could write. The script is traditionally read up to down left to right.
Elven, or otherwise known as High Imperial borrows many ideas from Draconic, having much of the same character word blocks and strokes, but what differs is it also features an alphabet in addition to having the traditional Draconic words. This simplified approach makes it easier for the common people to read and write, but still difficult for foreigners and travelers outside the empire to use.
As mentioned, Common or Low Imperial has been the trade language of the planet for hundreds of years, while the pronunciation and dialects changed from time, it has still survived, even if the great Human Kingdom did not. Dark Elven Lord Saejulas composed a writing system for common which could translate High Imperial and Draconic in common, this allowed the Dynasty to trade and barter with neighboring nations and allow more people access to reading and writing.
To the North, the Dwarven language is a complex language, with a much different way of speaking than both Elven and Common, its writing script proliferated through the world, Goblinoids, Orcs, Halflings, Gnomes all borrow from the same writing style as the Dwarves. Outsiders jest that the Dwarven alphabet looks like upside down Common. All three of these languages are read left to right.
To the South is the speech of the Ishvali, Infernal became its name as foreigners to the desert commented the way of speech as harsh and fast like a raging forest fire. The script is read right to left, the origins of this language seem to stem to what has been remarked as an Abyssal language.
Abyssal became synonymous with the Nameless, Forsaken, those who betrayed Auriga. Their history and origin is often shroud with misdirection and lacking any proper clues to how to pronounce this language properly.
