Session 12: Danger at Dunwater pt 2
General Summary
Our heroes successfully bested the Royal Ludroth, brought it back to their ship to be sent to the Sapphire Light. And were proclaimed worthy and champions in the Lizardfolk tradition of Khudak'croc. While not all of the lizardfolk were pleased with their success, the traditionalists of the Black Claw clan led by Vizier Othaghark tried to poorly discredit the heroes efforts but with no avail.
During the hunt it was revealed the reason behind William Dreamurr's strange behavior. He revealed himself during the hunt as a rare Weretiger, remnants of a super soldier creation of Aeon design. He was born with this condition and thus doesn't see it as a curse as much of society of it might. The party for the most part show acceptance in this reveal and the threads of the party get pushed closer and closer together. Perhaps by doing this the bond will be strengthened.
Afterwards, Queen Othokent invited the party to a diplomatic feast comprising of a variety of aquatic species, the Locathah, the Sharkhaan, the Clawfan and the Quaren. The one thing in common with all these groups that usually keep to themselves is one thing. The Sahuagin. They have all suffered at the hands of the Sahuagin and Lizardfolk intelligence suggests that the Sahuagin are rallying under the death of a young Sahuagin Leader named Salachai. This rallying has caused the Sahuagin to attempt to form an empire and reunite their efforts. Making the now sunken former home of the Lizardfolk their forward base of operations and the center of this new military effort to overrun the Celestial East.
The party successfully determined the Lizardfolks intentions, they were gathering weapons for war, but not with Dugang but to fight the Sahuagin. Queen Othokent was pleased with the wisdom and words of the different races represented, the Human, the Ikaren, the Kenku, the Halfling and the Warforged and agreed to send an emissary to Dugang to establish a relationship and help in their effort to fight the Sahuagin.
Their night was anything but restful though. In the middle of the night one Malenti, a rare Sahuagin mutation was masquerading as a Quaren and managed to free the Sahuagin prisoners and made an attempt on the Queen's life. Valcore in sentry mode was quick to act to rouse the party for action. The fight was bloody, the exhausted party gave their all and manage to save Queen Othokent. They learned a reality, there is a reason why all the aquatic races fear the Sahuagin. How could one species cause so much damage on their own? Why are they doing this?
