Warforged

During the time of the ancient civilization a new race was created, not by the gods, but by man, at least that is what humanity thought when they discovered a mysterious massive tree known as Yggdrasil in the continent of the south. Humanity claimed the strange peaceful creations as their own. Through force they became known as Equal Hunter Weapons or "EHWs" were "created" by the Human Kingdom as an attempt to meet the kingdom's needs and to fight the battle against the warring Elder Dragons. Modified into Mindless automatons, these first EHWs were used to collect vast resources, be it minerals, herbs, or hunting some of the less intelligent species of wyverns. By the time of the Great Dragon War, the Human Kingdom had made vast improvements to their original design. By pumping wyvern blood through their body and using energized streamstone as its core, the Human Kingdom had produced a sapient hunter killer, now more commonly known as warforged. During the Great Dragon War, these warforged were not just front line soldiers and defenders of the many settlements across the world, they were also tasked with the collection of vast amounts of dragon blood to fuel the ancient civilizations newest weapon, the Equal Dragon Weapon. By the end of the war, all of the warforged had been destroyed, deactivated, or left incomplete in workshop ruins. After the Long Winter, the warforged have woken up, their programming either incomplete or degraded over time, these warforged have a greater range of free will, and as such, albeit begrudgingly by some of the races, have been recognized as a new species, the Dwarven Union view them as spies and untrustworthy constructs. The Humans have difficulty in understanding how they can be sapient. Atleast that was written from the prospective of humanity and the biases of the dwarves. There is another tale told from the eyes of the Warforged.
Once people of the land known to be peaceful and harmoniously joined together with nature, having the legend of their existence coming from the bark of the world tree of Yggdrasil. All that changed when humans came seeing their natural power, resistance to natural elements, living almost with no end to their lifespan. They were turned from peaceful people to ones that only knew war and labor. They were overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of humans, and with their strange commanding words and dominating technology, they were promised peace and freedom once again after the war with the dragons ended. They fought and fought against the dragons, not believing how they came into this humiliating situation. But they did their job, at great cost to their numbers, dignity and identity
After the Long Winter they were shown consideration by the Jade Dynasty. Seeing their blight and misfortune that that was heaped on to them, they were granted a fiefdom so they could start again anew by Emperor Kaishen. The new culture developed rapidly, solidly identifying themselves honorable and kind and just rulers. They were allowed to join the Great Houses and even form their own nobility.

SOCIAL CLASSES There are 2 classes: Rulers and non rulers. No one is considered poor in the eyes of a Warforged, wealth is shared among all. Money is spent to benefit everyone; no one is independently wealthy. When they see such things it is considered uncivilized and borderline villainous in the eyes of a Warforged.
COMMUNICATION When someone talks over when we talk. We always stop and listen
HOLIDAYS AND FESTIVITIES No work is ever done on the longest day of the year or shortest day of the year. Industry Mining and metal working are of the finest quality. Construction and engineering are a close second.

Gender Ideals

Gender Ideals Men are the leaders. Women are known for their supportive rolls. Though there is not much physically different between them. Reproduction happens by planting and grafting the wood parts of male and female together and planting them in the soil.

Common Etiquette Rules

Words mean much. If they say it it will be done. Words of an individual are bound to them, and warforged remember words spoken to them as surely the sun rises. Equality is expected from the society. It's abohored when someone isn't treated as such, they understand other species don't act in the same way.

Common Myths and Legends

RELIGIOUS PROPHECY At the darkest time of the Great Dragon War there arose a story out of the Warforged battle legion ranks that forever changed the Warforged out look. Perhaps out of desperation of their plight or something unique and original of these newly minted sentients. A Warforged who would posses the nature to re-forge their ways. He would bear the mark of Etigot, not a branding on bark, but an ability of mind. This one could control the planets energy to enhance his own. Its said that he would bear the the entirety of the Warforged people on his shoulders with this power. Its said he would suffer with this power but only he could endure it. At the end of his suffering he would point the way to Yggdrasil, no longer any ones tool, free. This one would be called Brigir.

RELIGION & ETHICS. Yggdrasil Is believed to be the the one source of the Warforge's life. This tree is said to bring life giving nutrients to them like the roots of a tree. However they know they were created by mans technologic prowess, some still alive since that time. Many items and tools among them remain primitive due to the the effects human technology had on them since then. Instead they make best use of the tools they have deemed safe. That doesn't mean they aren't " smart" enough to understand newer technology, it just reflects a larger current running in the culture, we always ask ourselves just because we can do something does it mean should we.
