The Machina are the last remnants of the Giants’ Empire. When the Giants disappeared, the Machina sought allegiances with what the Giants called the “Lesser Races”.

Genetics and Reproduction
Machina reproduce by a process they call 'transmission', wherein two machina touch an Aetherium crystal and simultaneously transfuse their Auras into it to create a new Machina soul.

Aetherium crystals usually run out of charges, yet a Machina's soulstone seems to burn perpetually; providing a nigh-limitless source of power for certain technology.
