Session 1 - Gaedren Lamm

General Summary

Gaedren Lamm has spent his entire miserable life enriching himself at the expense of everyone around him. It should be no suprise that he has made many enemies along the way, and Zellara is one such person. After her son was murdered by this cruel crime lord, she used all her connections to find his base of operations, and assemble a team to bring about his destruction.
First, Zellara sent a message to Draka a beautiful employee of the The Witch's Tit who wants to protect the owner, Lindsa. Next, she finds a strange human from Seo-Song, who was betrayed by Gaedren when they worked together long ago. She then finds Pawsaurus, a catman bard, whose true love was killed by Gaedren's men in a botched robbery. Finally, she finds Ignis a powerful mage who was almost killed by Gaedren as a child, leaving him scarred both emotionally and physically.
After a meeting at her house, the group decides to wait until morning to investigate Gaedren's base at an old fishery. Upon arriving, Pawsaurus notices children running in and out of the building. Ignis informs the group that the crime boss uses these children as pickpockets to fund his empire. Drogo investigates a ship lashed to the building, finds it infested with Drain Spiders, and quickly leaves.
Ignis and Draka listen at one of the doors and hear a low growling. It is Bloo, Gaedren's dog, a feral beast that terrorized Ignis as a child. The young man gives Draka some poison, who puts it on some jerky, and slips it under the door. One of his enemies dead, Ignis picks the lock and the group enters the fishery.
As they sneakily explore the building, they come across the sleeping Yargin, Gaedren's second in command. Drogo pulls a knife to kill him, but is not as sneaky as he thinks. The now awake Yargin yelps for help while tossing a vial of acid at his attacker. Ignis shoots flames from his hands, and Yargin is burnt to a crisp. His death, however, was not quiet. Someone begins banging on the door asking Yargin if he is alright. Pawsaurus expertly changes his voice to mimic the dead man, and send his allies away.
After a few minutes, Draka opens the door and checks for the man who was just outside. She sees Giggles, the muscle of Gaedren's outfit. She throws a coin to distract the lumbering orc, and Drogo pushes the giant off the docks and into the frigid water below. When they look down at the water, the group see a hidden under-dock below them. They all climb down and find themselves in Gaedren's personal quarters. Pawsaurus begins to investigate, and runs into the crime lord himself.
Gaedren looks around and spots Drogo goading the fighter into an attack. The crime boss shoots his crossbow into the icy waters; suddenly, an Alligator springs from the water.
"Gobblegut," he laughs, "kill these intruders!"
The fight continues, and when no help arrives, Gaedren realizes he is terribly outnumbered. While attempting to flee, Drogo kills him with a hatchet. Gobblegut realizes there will be no easy lunch, and slips into the waters.
Now that revenge has been handled, they begin to split Gaedren's loot. Pawsaurus finds Zellara's harrow deck, and Drogo finds her rotting, severed head. The woman they talked to yesterday, looks like she has been dead a few weeks. Finally, getting over their shock, Ignis finds the queens broach.
Leaving the fishery, they find the city has erupted into riots. The king has died, and not everyone declares loyalty to his wife immediately. With nothing else holding them together, the group parts ways. Pawsaurus uses his portion of the loot to retrieve his wife's wedding ring from the fence that had it. Then Zellara's ghost appeared before him. She divines that the group has a higher calling; by working together, they can cure the rot that infests Cordova.
Drogo and Ignis save a noble from an angry mob. His name is Amin, and he promises he will not forget their kindness.
Draka returns to her job at The Witch's Tit to help protect the place from looters. She assists her boss, Lindsa and removes a drunken guard named Grau. Pawsaurus uses him magic to contact the rest of the group, and they all assemble at the tavern.
They head to the castle and meet the new queen, Ileosa, and her handmaiden, Sabina. Ignis returns her broach, and they take her up on an offer to help the city guard. She sends them to Jadis a commander in the city watch.
