Bridgetown

Bridgetown is the capital city of the province of Ure-Kesh, and is one of the great ports on the western coast of Auvia. Situated at the mouth of the Clovenhoof River, it serves as a major cultural and economic artery between Castelle and the Sea of Blades to the north, Old Rialto and the Sunset Sea to the west, and the far more populated Auvian Crownlands upriver to the east.
Bridgetown is named for it's long bridges, upon which much of the city is built. Entire city districts sit above the broad river below, the tallest of which allowing for moderate sailing vessels to pass under bustling market squares with ease.
Probably the greatest export of Bridgetown is it's bards. Thanks to the generous patronship of Yndry the Dragon, Bridgetown hosts Auvia's most prestigious collection of historical and artistic collections, the University of Worldly Wonders.
Because Bridgetown's culture of commerce is extremely lenient towards landed merchant lords, the city's ruling body, the Lord's Council, is most often described as "the Merchant's Council", as the majority of it's member's are wealthy locals who have purchased their lands and titles. While they are formally an organization of equals, their ad-hoch leader is the Lady Soffiya Ure-Kesh, the current (yet disputed) Elector Lord of Ure-Kesh.

Locations of Note:

• The AirDnD, previously Kelibold Manor - Once the estate of the late House Kelibold, it's owners fell to a fate most foul due to the tragic summoning of a Pit Fiend on their premise. It is now the property and headquarters of a band of adventurers, who are in no way responsible for the deaths of it's previous tenants. The manor can be found in the northern countryside, on the Castelleon side of the Clovenhoof river, and is becoming a popular destination for traveling adventurers. The property is managed by Pasha, an earnest and hardworking Half-Orc steward, and the Capy-Baron, who remains haughty, yet dutiful.
• Yndry's University of Worldly Wonders - The world's finest repository of historical and artistic works, it is the greatest private school of learning in the world, and the single largest patron of bardic endeavors in Auvia. It is the publicly accessible dragon horde of Yndry, the great Copper Dragon of Bridgetown, who long ago discerned that, to exist as a dragon within the Auvian Empire without bloodshed, he must integrate his wealth fully into society (at least in so far as items of historical & cultural merit are available for public viewing).
• Al-Jadib's Pet Shop & Taxidermist - The finest menagerie in the West, the Dao known as Al-Jadib welcomes all who wish to purchase his animals or animal by-products.
• The Undertow Bar - Built within the support beam of one of the city's great stone bridges, the Undertow is a musty, moldy bar that is often more flooded than populated with customers, making it the ideal place for seedy sorts to drink their cares away in peace.
