Lowtown

Lowtown, also known as Verslund Hold to the Dwarves, is a city within the Amber Heights mountains on the southeastern coast of the Crownlands. It is built within a narrow canyon, creating a two sided vertical city of inter-crossing bridges, platforms, and lifts. It is considered a marvel of modern mechanical engineering, and is well known as one of, if not the most advanced technological city on the continent.
It is unique in that it a joint venture between Dwarves, Gnomes, and Halflings, who all attempted to settle the region at around the same time. The blending of these cultures has created an entirely unique local culture in Lowtown, known for it's industrious, creative, and family oriented nature. It is a leading technological hub on the continent, with many of the world's finest artificers and engineers residing there.
During the War of the Khan, the magi-tech engineers of Lowtown created the first Warforged to aid in the city's defense. They're invention turned the tide of the southern front, though in the modern age it is considered a heinous crime against personhood to create any new Warforged in the name of eternal servitude. Despite this ban, Lowtown is said to still house the highest population of active Warforged in Auvia.
