Etchlings are a monstrous species that dwell deep underground and in dark, overgrown forests where Obliviax grows. They possess long, gaunt limbs in abnormal proportions and heads filled with daggers for teeth and a dozen unseeing eyes. Etchlings themselves have evolved to grow Obliviax moss on their backs as an advantage to hunting prey, as the plant's ability to mess with the minds of those that inhale its spores means that adventurers who just so happen to wander too close to an Etchling don't see the nightmare stalking behind them until it's already too late. Thus, not many survive their encounters with Etchlings, making them quite formidable foes. The lucky souls that do survive can harvest the Obliviax to craft Potions of Oblivion or use Etchling blood to make Fugue Oil.
