Vrengar
The Monarch of Madness
The name Vrengar incites fear and disgust in the hearts of most anyone across Avalor. Responsible for the two Cataclysms of Aberran, the self-proclaimed "Dark Lord of Depravity" is a lich who takes great pleasure in playing god with mortals. An original founder of the Seekers Consortium that resorted to lichdom in an effort to save himself from a magical curse, something—whether it be years of bored immortality or the whisperings of the Abyss—drove Vrengar to complete madness. In one of his most recent acts of chaos, he managed to summon Orcus to the material plane and rend his soul from his body, replacing it with his own. Thankfully, he was banished back to the Abyss before he could destroy anything beyond the city-state of Alfheim.
Although the storm of this Second Cataclysm was quickly quelled, Vrengar has managed to leave an impact on Avalor and elevate himself to a state of near-godhood. Small groups of cultists worship him as a symbol of freedom and anarchy, mimicking his philosophy through depraved crimes and inciting chaos around them. Those who appease his wicked sense of humor often find themselves granted with small fragments of Vrengar's newfound Abyssal power and dark secrets.
Appearance. In his normal form, Vrengar resembles a gaunt husk of a man with thin, greenish skin, long black hair, and empty eye sockets that will occasionally glow purple. He wears nicely-tailored black robes with a long, purple overcoat. However, since his fusion, he presumably shares his true form with Orcus: a bloated demon with the head and legs of a goat, ram-like horns, and bat wings.
