They got to the Azure veil and Aya had some letters for them
  • They got a letter of introduction for the King, there was a package for Fyuna and a note for Caloden
  • Caloden promptly burned his note
They stopped at Searcy’s Trove to get some supplies
  • Bought a magic mirror that shows the current state of the people you tell it to look for. Works three times a day
Jean, the half-dwarf offered to provide them with some maps to go find more junk The city is preparing for two major events.
  • The Enyal Amaurea: A remembrance ceremony commemorating the lives that were lost during the Battle of Azure Veil
  • The King’s Golden Jubilant: Celebrating the king ruling for 50 years.
Alister drew from the Deck of Many Things and now is the proud owner of a keep in Athenon.
  • The keep is located in the Eastbrond Mountains and has been (temporarily?) named the Lizard Wizard Power Tower.
  • It is currently overrun by monsters and they will have to clear it out. It's a bit of a fixer-upper.
When they got to the palace grounds, part of the party took notice of a large statue with a figure that looked like Phoenix that was found to be a memorial for the people who died in the battle. They presented the letter of introduction to the captain of the royal guard who seemed to take interest in something that the letter said and then seemed to take an interest in Phoenix. Surprisingly, he said that he could get an audience with the king as soon as possible. Gek gave a brief history of the battle after rolling out the nose on a history check. They met with King Aydin Revia and explained that they were looking for his sister, Kaleigha. He hasn't seen Kaleigha in a few weeks but he knows that she is doing some work in some ancient ruins a few days' walks from the capital. He also had an interesting encounter with Phoenix, asking if he knew him. Phoenix said he was a relative of Stonebreaker, the Goliath depicted in the statue, and wanted to know more about him. He also gave the king his spyglass for stargazing. As they were leaving, the king ran after them and shouted a title which got Phoenix’s attention. And then he promptly socked Phoenix right in the jaw. Their conversation in Elvish consisted of asking where he had been for the past fifty years and chewing him out, before embracing him. It was revealed that Phoenix wasn't actually related to the guy in the statue. He was the guy in the statue. The king took him to a private meeting while some of the party went to a tavern. Gek and Alister snuck into the meeting, deep within the royal vaults under the palace where they found a smaller memorial. The king presented Phoenix with a wooden box and a bow. And they talked briefly about what happened with Phoenix and how he was still alive when everyone assumed his body had been burned to ashes. Alister got super fed up with all of the secrets that were being kept within the party and he and Gek briefly confronted Phoenix when he returned to their quarters, where Jangles was waiting patiently for Phoenix to read him a bedtime story. They agreed that they would talk about it more in the morning, but after Phoenix went off to read to Jangles before going to bed himself, Gek and Alister agreed that there needs to be an intervention with all of the party members. That the group had been together for too long (Roughly four months) to justify keeping secrets to each other.
