Ematec Parthanax

As one of the few survivors of Queen Elirona's rescue party, Ematec rose quickly through the ranks of the Taladesh, the Haliai elite royal guard, becoming Captain after ten years. During the Battle of Azure Veil, his primary responsibility was to guard King Aemaris. However, once the Shadow Hoard breached the inner walls of the palace, King Aemaris gave Ematec his final order to go protect the young crown prince. After some protest, Ematec arrived just in time to rescue Aydin from the oncoming hoard.  Fifty years later, and approaching ninety-five years of age, Ematec still serves as the Captain of the Taladesh. Although he tends to work more on the administrative side at King Aydin's request (and his annoyance). He is the oldest, non-elven, member of the Taladesh and while he still takes time to train the next generation of guardsmen, the pain of those lost to him during the Battle of Azure Veil plagues him to this day.
