Alchemy

Alchemy is an advanced form of herbalism, which is why trainees in the art are often mistakenly called herbalists. The distinction between alchemists and herbalists is somewhat significant. Alchemists use the magical properties of plants and animal parts, and mix them to create effects they which are only loosely related to those of the components, by manipulating the magic inside them. While herbalists merely use the properties of the plants and animal parts themselves. Alchemists, therefore, can combine properties to come to new effects. This can be used to cause a wide variety of effects, and complicated combinations of effects from different magics can come together to make a new whole. It can not, however, produce miracle cures. Alchemical mixtures are usually slow working, much like herbalistic medicine, though the effects can be more powerful and there is a much wider range of effects.
