Session 6.1 INTERLUDE

All across Manshaka preparations are underway for the Festivus celebration, just over a week away. The platform for the Airing of Grievances is being set up in the Pasha’s Square, Family members are signing up for the Feats of Strength and wrestling in the Colloseum and Festivus Poles are appearing all across the city. In Cheapside the taverns are full as revelers spend the silver passed out by Jubal’s Hawkmasks. But just beneath the surface of the celebration there is a palpable tension in the air as if a great storm is approaching.   The adventurers, sharing a large room in the inn that serves as Hands home, the “Darkened Lantern”, cannot help but feel this general sense of unease as they await Old Getty’s inquiries into the best approach to the shrine of Waukeen on the grounds of the Palace of Six Minarets.   MYTHDANOR – In muted conversation with Hands and other denizens of the night, he has heard of thieves in hiding as the Hawkmasks continue to patrol Cheapside, handing out beatings and worse as they see fit. The Good Folk have found their regular activities increasingly hampered.   GARRAK – Still haunted by dreams of the abomination he witnessed in the basement of the Black Circle’s lair a new vision appears to him. Barronar Truesilver appears in a dream. Her golden braids gleaming, she looks upon him with disappointment. She makes known her displeasure with the murder of the helpless acolyte of Bane. This is not her way. Garrak awakens in a cold sweat, shaking as the vision of her fades but her final words echo in his thoughts. “You will atone my child. When the white crow calls three times it shall lead you to your task.”   AKIR – Obsessing over the map and lore of the Sun Shield, the warrior donned a cloak and carefully made his way to the library. After hours of research he learned more of the object of his father’s obsession. Known in Elvish as “Anor Tan” and in Dwarven as “Sar Korhaz”, the shield was created by the ancient Elven wizard Srinshee, with the aid of Dwarven and Elven artificers over 300 years before her death. The shield was given to the human Paladin, Frederick the Gallant who carried it into battle far to the North against the Demon forces of Orcus. It was lost when he fell in the swamps of Kir and has not been seen or heard of since. Some stories saying it was taken by denizens of the swamp and others saying it was destroyed by a dragon.   ROGGO – Following an evening in the common room of the Lantern the group eventually drifted back to their room and their simple straw mattresses. In the middle of the night Roggo awoke to the unmistakable howl of a wolf. The call echoed across the sleeping city, seeming to come from the direction of the Jug or the Strand. In that howl he heard a plaintive call for freedom, which was abruptly cut off. The rest of the group awoke to the Elf’s clear concern and discomfort as he gazed out the window into the dark night.
