Spirit Bending

A special type of bending practiced solely by the Spirit Benders.
Spirit Bending does not manipulate anything physical. Rather, Spirit Bending deals directly with the soul and spirit of a person.
Spirit Bending is primarily used in two ways: to look into the soul/spirit of person and to enter the Spirit World at will. The first use is really a derivative of the second use.
When Spirit Bending is used to look into the soul/spirit of person, Spirit Bending allows the user to look at the past experiences of a person through the lens of the Spirit World. Then, a Spirit Bender may heal the soul/spirit of a person if their soul/spirit has been broken by a tramautic experience or any other cause.
When Spirit Bending is used to enter the Spirit World, the soul/spirit of the user is transferred into the Spirit World (similar to how the Avatar is able to enter the Spirit World at specific spiritual points in the world). Using Spirit Bending to enter the Spirit World is extremely dangerous however. If one dies in the spirit world, they also die in the physical world.
Spirit Bending has dangerous potential side effects, such as Spirit Sickness, if used recklessly. Only the most conditioned of Spirit Benders can practice Spirit Bending safely.
