Episode 1: The Golden Seal

The town is bustling but silent. Huijang has been rebuilt by Avatar Kyoshi and the New Flying Opera Company as one of their two bases of operations. A town hidden behind tall mountains north of the Earth Kingdom, it is the perfect place for daofei to mingle, trade, and most importantly, plot. Wooden buildings creep up from the ground as if a woodbender had built them hastily. The streets are sandy and dirty, but still more organized than they would before the town was abandoned a few years ago after a shirshu attack orchestrated by the Earth Sage, Jianzhu, to capture Avatar Kyoshi. Although everyone walks silently, they walk with a purpose.   Outside the woods, a young Waterbender, Kitchie, tells his Salamanta, Koshu, that he has business in the town. Koshu gets excited and begins to show his bioluminescence, but Kit manages to calm him down and lead him to a spring nearby to hide and drink some water. He heads into town.   Meanwhile, a young Firebender with striking red hair, Jax, wanders seemingly pointless around town, eating grub when he can and just enjoying the scenery. Another Firebender, a rogue named Satomi, walks around the town spotting potential things to steal. Watching these strange people, a young swordswoman, Tomomi, uses her stealth to observe her surroundings.   An Air Nomad shushes the crowd with a gust of air and announces that those with the golden seal should meet up at the green building. The four strangers make their way to the building separately where they are greeted by a bouncer who inspects their gold seals. All but Jax enter with their seals. Jax manages to trick the bouncer into letting him in. Behind them, a few folks trail in, each having their seal as well.   Inside the building, the old Air Nomad is excused by a young Earth Kingdom man who introduces himself as Zhuan. Charismatic and cunning, he tells the group that their objective is to pull a heist to steal a ring off of the finger of Don Malakas, a powerful Earth Kingdom noble. While the rest of the daofei lose interest because they refuse to steal off Malakas, the four strangers stay behind and listen. Zhuan hastily accepts them into the group and they depart to meet Ko in the woods.   Each of them green Ko with melons, but only some manage to impress the Salamanta. Zhuan announces that they will be departing to Yakoya Port, home of Avatar Kyoshi, but they must stop by a small volcanic town called Makapu first.   Upon landing on Makapu, they notice a crowd of townspeople around an old woman who is tied to the stake. They are being held back by suspicious people in black robes called "The Celestials". A battle ensues between Zhuan and the strangers and The Celestials. They are joined by Ishiko, a mysterious Earthbender boy with a blindfold. Together, they stop the Celestials from burning the old woman at the stake.   The old woman introduces herself as Aunt Song and Zhuan reveals that their goal was to meet her. Aunt Song is the town's renowned fortuneteller. She reads the four stranger's fortunes and tells Ishiko that her prophecy would be triggered if he went with these strangers. Ishiko decides to leave his family and Makapu to join the strangers and Zhuan on their mission. Their arrival lined up with Song's prophecy that a life-changing opportunity would come from the skies when he finishes one thousand hours of training, leading him to believe that this was destiny.   Zhuan welcomes Ishiko to the group and he meets Ko for the first time who takes a slight liking to him. Together, they depart for Yakoya Port.
