Episode 16: The Omashu King

The Omashu Queen grasps her throat as Niya uses Bloodbending to slash it open. Ishiko tries to help her, but the queen collapses on the ground, blood dripping down the throne's steps toward everyone's feet. Satomi collapses in shock over seeing Niya for the first time in years and witnessing her murder the queen, and Tomomi rushes to her aid. Niya also walks towards Satomi but is blocked by Jax and Kit. Jax attempts to fight her but is thrown with Bloodbending towards Rishi.
Cobra Lily throws the Donya towards the Don, who is being held by Qi-Rah with a lightning blade to the neck. She tells him that if does not surrender the ring, they will kill her as well. The Don confesses his infidelity and professes his love to his wife. He tells her that only she will ever be his queen, and his affair with the Omashu Queen was to produce a male heir to put his clan as the ruler of Omashu with his wife by his side. Sobbing, she tells him that she loves her, but the Don drives a crystal through her heart, telling her that she is no longer worthy of him for her betrayal with the Strangers.
Everyone watches in horror as the Donya collapses and passes away slowly. There is a commotion outside the throne room and the doors swing open with more Celestials coming. The Don uses Crystalbending to seal all exits in the room, impaling one of them in the process. He declares that his new plan is to murder all the witnesses inside the throne room, frame The Celestials for the assassination of both the Queen and the Donya, and make The Strangers martyrs, in order to solidify his rule. His goal is to become the Omashu King and eventually take over the Earth Kingdom and make Omashu the capital instead of Ba Seng Se.
Jax and Kit hold back the other Celestial cultists while Tomomi tries to help Satomi, who is still in shock. A battle ensues between The Strangers (Ishiko, Rishi, and Fengyu), the other Celestials (Qi-Rah, Niya, and Cobra Lily), and the Don.
Ishiko uses his Seismic Sense to detect the battlefield before Niya appears behind him, somehow able to escape his earth-vision. Cobra Lily attempts to ensnare Rishi's ankle with a vine, but he is able to escape, engaging the Don in battle.
Qi-Rah and the Don exchange blows with Crystal and Lightning. When the Don is hit with a jolt of electricity, Rishi engages him as well, telling him that he knows what the Don truly is, revealing he kept the Air Talisman from his previous battle with Yawen. Qi-Rah interrupts this by launching a lightning blast toward Rishi as well as Cobra Lily senses the full moon and uses Bloodbending to hold him down.
Ishiko rushes to Rishi's side while an impressed Niya gives commendations to Cobra Lily, before using Bloodbending to puppeteer the Omashu Queen and Donya's corpses into body shields.
