Episode 21: Training Day

The Flying Opera Company's inner circle comprising Zhuan, Kala, Kirima, Wong, and Jinpa, meets with Ishiko, Rishi, Tomomi, and an incapacitated Cobra Lily in the war room to discuss what happened. Zhuan believes there is a mole in the group who alerted The Celestials of Cobra Lily's location. Ishiko bluffs and says he has used his Seismic Sense to detect who the liar is, but it just reveals that no one in the room is guilty. Rishi attempts to put suspicion on Cobra Lily, but he is shut down by Zhuan, who calls him a hypocrite.    Rangi arrives and tells everyone that she knows there is no mole in the room. She tells them that their next move should be to take Cobra Lily to a secure, remote location until Kyoshi's inner circle can find the mole. Rangi gives them a mission to head for Ember Island to both protect Cobra Lily from Celestial Assasins and investigate a string of random murders on the island. She tells everyone to make preparations to leave tomorrow.    Tomomi and Zhuan have a conversation about their fathers. Tomomi, whose father denied her inheritance because of her sex, forms a connection with Zhuan, who was sent away when his father saw him wearing his mother's clothes. Tomomi asks Zhuan to teach her how to use kunai accurately, and she is able to pick the skill up very quickly. Zhuan gives her the idea to make her own kunai and use Dragonviper venom to paralyze her opponents. They spent the rest of the day practicing.    Rishi heads to Yakoya Port to look for new clothes. Misha, the local seamstress, approaches him and tells him that his clothes are filthy and tattered, not what a master Airbender should be wearing. She offers to give him the family discount from the Avatar and make a new robe that will be resistant to fire since his robes have been burnt from his previous battle. However, Rishi has to find rare Firesilk Worms, which nest behind the Avatar Mansion. There, he finds Kala, who is training. Kala questions him about his loyalty and encourages him to make amends with Ishiko. Together, they collect enough worms to repair and reinforce his current cloak, but not enough to make a new one. She loans him one of the Kyoshi Warriors' heavier but fireproof armor for their trip to Ember Island and tells her that she's always supported him and knows he knows he was wrong.    Cobra Lily sits awkwardly with Kirima in the War Room. Kirima begins to ask her about her life, and Cobra Lily tells her that she is from the Swamp Tribe. She tells Kirima that she wants to learn how to heal. Kirima asks her why, considering she is selfish and arrogant, but Cobra Lily tells her that she still needs to be there for her companions since it's a mission. Kirima sees a lot of her younger self in Cobra Lily, considering they are both outlaws. She agrees to teach Cobra Lily how to heal with Waterbending, slashing her arm for healing practice.    Ishiko challenges Wong to spar. During the battle, he uses Subtle Misdirection to Earthebend Ishiko against himself, which Ishiko decides to use in future battles. The battle ends in a draw, and Wong tells Ishiko that he will be his master if he wants. He also tells him that the Sandbenders had committed suicide in the dungeon in between watch shifts.
