The Western Air Temple
The Western Air temple was the last to be completed, mostly due to its unique architecture: buildings having been carved from the underside of a cliff, miles over the dangerous currents coming off the Harakin Ocean and into the Mo Che Sea, north of the Fire Nation. Its design allows wind to flow into even the deepest chambers, which made the Air Nomads feel at home. There are steps built into the side of the cliff to allow for movement between tiers of the temple and different buildings.
The Western Air Temple was one of the two temples that exclusively housed female Air Nomads. Like the Eastern Air Temple, it boasts statues of Yangchen as it was her birthplace.
The Western Air Temple celebrates the patronage of Baiyu, the white bison of the west. Nuns of the Western Temple are like the tempest: a force of nature and quick to change direction, though still strong when they do.
