Barupo Genocide

Tensions over alleged border frictions between the Barupo and Thorans has been mounting over the course of several years, culminating in the Thoran declaration of war with the weak excuse of a clearly faked Barupo attack as the given reason. The generally quite peaceful Barupo, while the war was seen coming for several years, was very unprepared for a war of such proportions. Production of weapons and ships had to be ramped up exponentially for even a faint hope of survival, textile and other product factories being repurposed to create implements of war. Mandatory service, previously outlawed in the federation, quickly became necessary as Thoran forces brutally assaulted the border. Cries for help were answered by silence from the federation’s western neighbor, the Sibrian Union, as the Thorans began to commit more and more heinous war crimes. Within the Saurian Empire many moved to save the Barupo, but discussions have been delayed by the War of Foxan Betrayal occupying the Empire’s attention, leaving the federation to desperately strive for survival.
