An electro magnetic pulse is a sudden surge of electro magnetic energy that causes electrically power devices to cease functioning in a specific area. This type of weapon has been used in many things ranging from attacks on infrastructure to take down power grids to EMP missiles that detonate near ships, disabling their essential systems such as life support.
