Enigmar (Ee-nig-mar)

Length of Day: 47 hours   Length of a Year: 511 days   Gravity: 0.8 Gs   Moons: 3   Average Temperature: 21 - 48 degrees F   Water Coverage: 57%   Population: 1,893,460,983   Terrain: The surface of the planet is covered in dense forests with some of the largest trees in the galaxy, all layered in thick blankets of fog. Some areas of the fog contain hallucinogenic chemicals that have different effects on different people and races, ranging from pleasant feelings to your worst nightmares flashing before your eyes as if physically there, to even inexplicable spontaneous death. This gas can be distilled and used extremely effectively for medical proposes as well as less reputable utilizations. In addition to this gas, many strange and often ethereal creatures reside in the mist, many still unknown to the Saurian Empire as a whole due to their intangible nature. Most are harmless and seem to disappear as soon as they spot any Saurian presence, but some can be quite vicious and aggressive, even actively hunting Saurians that enter their territory. Residents of Enigmar live in biodomes of varied sizes to protect from both the gas and the creatures that reside in it.     Culture: There are generally three main types of people that reside on Enigmar, workers who harvest the gases, scientists who study all the mysteries and creatures of the planet, and lastly poachers who illegally and quite dangerously hunt all the amazing and terrifying monsters of Enigmar. Very few people live on the planet domestically due to the inherent dangers that entails, and those who do tend to live within the protection of a gas extraction camp, their mandatory security detail providing a perhaps false sense of security. Another effect of the gas is effectively blocking communication signals, leading most outposts and settlements to have a large control/communications tower in the center protruding up through the mist so as to communicate with other outposts or otherwise other off-world assets if their equipment is strong enough. Occasionally outposts will have to defend themselves from the creatures of Enigmar, but more often they will be fending off poacher raids, as they house much valuable resources within their domes.   Military: Only outposts officially sanctioned by the Saurian Empire receive actual Saurian Warriors for protection, leading many settlements and private outposts to hire mercenaries or bodyguards to defend them from monsters and raiders. There are only 3 recruiting centers on Enigmar, as not many applicants can be found on the planet. Those that are recruited however are experts in survival and dealing with highly toxic/irradiated environments, making them the Saurian Empire’s main choice for combat in similarly hazardous environments. Their uniforms are always environmentally sealed with rebreathers or masks, and often well camouflaged.
