High Sortia (SORE-TEE-UH)
Culture: The culture of High Sortia is quite complex in the fact that it's society relies heavily on women as the politicians, business owners, and workers as all of the men from the age of 50 until death are entered into the military arm of the planet. In addition, Sortian society is heavily caste based... there are four castes, the noble caste, the soldier caste, the worker caste, and the dishonored caste. Each one has its own place in society. The noble caste is made up of the top 1% of Sortians, the rich and powerful. The ladies of the noble caste rule the Feudalistic government of High Sortia and fund the military on its campaigns. Next, the soldier cast is the second highest cast, soldiers are held as protectors of Sortia and being a member of the death knights is considered the highest honour among the men of sortia, no man wishes to be a politician as this is seen as a woman's job and is therefore deemed "weak" by the men. The soldiers job is obviously to fight the wars of the Emperor in the name of High sortia. Next is the workers caste, this group is made up of all the middle to low class citizens and workers and is considered an honorable job for a woman as Sortia produces up to 1% of all Walren Vantium ore in the galaxy and most of the population is either a miner or a blacksmith. Lastly is the dishonored caste, these are all men who are either unfit for war or are considered cowardly or for various other reasons unfit for combat. These undesirables are used deep in the mines and forges to work tirelessly until death to pay for their dishonored status. However all is not lost for every year the Sortians hold a great games for dishonored men to compete in several combat sports to redeem themselves and to be sent into an army unit. Any man who survives the week of torture and combat will be redeemed and be taken into the soldiers caste.
Military: the military arm of High Sortia is known as the "Sortian Death Knights" and are some of the most brutal fighters in the imperial army and are said to be able to go head to head with a Saurian at an even match... Sortians tend to be smaller than other Walren for an unknown reason but this makes them far better for their signature light infantry work... the death knights are a highly honor based society and if you somehow dishonor yourself in battle or some other way you may even be put to a shameful death. Contrary to their name, the average sortian soldier doesn't wear almost any armour and prefer to move faster and lighter. They Usually wear black or darker camouflage fatigues, minimal armor, light kit, and a ghoulish mask or warpaint.
Geography
Sortias Geology is quite simple, it mostly consists of flat plains of volcanic activity but obviously there are many volcanos and mountains, the rock that makes up most of the planet is dark black in color and full of pure Vantium ore. In fact Vantium makes up more than an estimated 15% of the total material of the planet. Sortia has very little water, less than .05% of the tota surface is water, and the little water that is there is extremely saturated with sulfur. The planet has a nitrogen rich atmosphere but there is a significant amount of carbon monoxide in the air at all times, aswell as sulfur hexafluoride so most Walren still have to wear air masks of some kind
