Vessykiir (Ves-ih-kee-r)

Initially know as the “Red Demons”, it was soon discovered that these creatures were indeed not spiritual as the Void was found to be a physical realm with its own flora and fauna.

Basic Information

Anatomy

These red, reddish orange, or dark red skinned creatures exist only in the Void. They possess two arms and legs, with three toes ending in sharp claws and 5 fingers on each hand ending in the same. 2 claws on each had extend 3-5x longer than the rest, the Vessykiir using them as weapons when nothing else is available. Their long, ridged heads are ribbed on the underside with 3 green glowing eyes set in either side of the skull. Small upward curving horns like the space above their eyes, with two much bigger horns of varying size and shape sprout further back on their heads. Inside their jaws are double rows of razor sharp, inward-curving teeth designed to easily shred meat, dead or living. Lastly, their body temperatures are so high they steam and even embers often emit from a Vessykiir’s flesh, apparently not even causing the slightest pain or discomfort.

Genetics and Reproduction

Unknown, but it is thought that Vessykiir must be created or spawned be some external entity or phenomenon as they posses no reproductive organs of any kind.

Ecology and Habitats

Vessykiir can survive in almost any atmosphere as they do not need to breath, and heat or fire of any kind do not affect them in the slightest, but they second any Vessykiir has been observed attempting to leave the Void they instantly turn to ash in a bright flash. Cold does not seem to effect them either, aside from possible making them sluggish, though do to their extremely high body temperature steam hisses off their bodies like hot steel being quenched.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Physical food and water are of no concern for the Vessykiir, which is good as there is not much of either in the Void. They have been observed eating the flesh of other beings quite often, but this seems to be purely for pleasure as tests disallowing them from eating have resulted in only an increase in rage from the creatures. It is speculated that the Vessykiir race survives collectively off of violence they enact, but there has been no concrete proof of this.

Behaviour

The Vessykiir roam the Void in search of something, anything to kill. Almost like the Walren, but even more primal, killing seems to be their only purpose in life.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

A Vessykiir’s glowing green eyes can see in total darkness as well as through thick smoke or steam, which comes in handy quite often in the Void. They have no smelling organs or traditional ears, but they do seem to have an organ in the back part of their head that is sensitive to vibrations, allowing a sort of quasi-hearing or special sense.
