Veronika
Born of a forbidden love affair between a human and an elf, Veronika found herself an outcast to both societies. As a baby, her parents were ashamed and worried of the ridicule they my receive from their communities, so they decided to hide her deep within a nearby forest. Her parents had known a magical hermit lived near the area, and they had hoped that Veronika would grow up without knowing the hatred of the world. Luckily, within a day, the hermit Sybill heard little Veronika's crying and took the baby in. They both immediately form an intense bond and Veronika quickly views Sybill as a mother-like figure. This may be to Veronika's detriment as Sybill introduces her to the realm of shadows and demons.
As her guardian, Sybill protected her from the harshness of human civilization and raised her sheltered from community. Sybill was Veronika's only form of human interaction. When Veronika was about 10, Sybill received a vision that Veronika is destined to wield shadow magic, following in her footsteps, and realizes that she has found Veronika for a reason. She decided to lock her away to study the lore of fiends and the Underworld in fear that she wouldn't be prepared for her future. Veronika followed Sybill blindly, not knowing how to show any other affection and developed a insatiable thirst for dark knowledge. Through her study and quest for knowledge, she felt a pull toward a specific demon called a Demogorgun. In her quest to find a way to summon this dark entity, Veronika found that she must sacrifice something she loved to complete the ritual.
Conflicted by this news, Veronika felt that this is what Sybill wanted...for Veronika to unlock her true potential by summoning a large demonic presence. On the night that Veronika began the ritual, Sybill was able to decipher what Veronika was attempting and tried to persuade her to stop...that she was in over her head. But it was too late. Veronika plunged the knife into Sybill's heart and the Demongorgun was summoned. The pact was made between the two and the demonic beast immediately disappears into some veiled reality.
Veronika has been haunted by this decision up until current day, and isn't sure if her sacrifice was worth obtaining her full power from the Demongorgon. Would Sybill be proud of her? Why did the Demongorgon call to her the way it did? This has driven Veronika to become incredibly impulsive, and truth be told, a little crazy due to killing the only person who had ever cared for her...
She does what she feels is right in every moment of her life and is unsure of whether or not she wants to continue in her Pact with Demogorgun. She likes the magical power that she is able to pull from the pact, but it will forever be tied to the death of the only person she ever felt close to. Deep down, Veronika really craves human connection, love and friendship, but she is haunted by the sacrifice she made to become the Warlock she is today, making relationship-building near-impossible for her historically.

Veronika has emerald green eyes that glow when she utilizes her magical abilities. Her ears are slightly pointed-somewhere between human and elven ears. Fair, pale skin.

Veronika has a thin, but fairly athletic build. Definitely able to hold her own when it comes to closed quarters.

Her dark violet, wavy hair stands out amongst most in a crowd.
