Frigates are full-rigged ships, that is square-rigged on all three masts, they are built for speed and handiness, have a lighter armament than a ship of the line (MoW), and are used for patrolling and escort.

Frigates are similar to the make of a Barque. Military Frigates are as well, but the cargo hold has been reduced in size to hold marines and armaments.
