To fade

We, human, tend to use figure of speech, such as euphemism, to romanticize or soften an event.
A classic example would be "passed away" instead of "died" ; which, in the context of a christian society, probably refers to going in the after life.
We use similar ones in french : "il s'en est aller", "il nous a quitté", litterally meaning "He went away" and "He left us".
I really like such euphemism, I think it really shows something of the culture and minds of a specific group within the way they speak. Thanks to spooktober 2023, I found one for the people of my world.

~~ To fade ~~

I think it works perfectly because when someone has died, their physical body slowly disappers, it fades.
Also, sometimes, dying, unfortunately, is a slow motion, when you're progressively loosing control and feel of your limbs, or of your mind, your self. One could say, you are fading.
Finally, the memory of the loveone will fade too. It is less and less "reachable", more blurry, but, in a way, it kind of still is, just faded.

Of course, the language of the people of my world is not english, so it will not be "to fade", but it will convey the same idea.
