Elandris Silvertears

Scrapmaster Elandris Meronida (a.k.a. The Silvertears)

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Born to a family of scrappers, Elandris's life was not easy, especially because of her half-blood heritage. Born blind, she was destined for a hard life, and her parents had to take her on expeditions due to a shortage of capable hands in the Scrappers. Her parents died during an expedition when she was about 5, leaving her in the hands of Sigjorn, who took her under her wing. He operated on Elandris, replacing her non-functional eyes with mechanical lenses. She became fast friends with Sigjorn's daughter, Brynhild Steelforge, eventually becoming lovers with her as they trained together under Sigjorn's tutlage. At the age of 89 she became a senior member of the Scrappers by excavating the Engine - a magical device which allegedly is supposed to produce infinite energy, though it's currently deactivated. She married Bryn at the age of 103 (year 1344), and they lived together for 56 years before breaking up. She then met Laputa on an expedition (year 1400), activating her and helping her acclimate to this new world. During their time together, they started to have feelings for each other, but Laputa left to Meander before anything could blossom of it (year 1427). Another 20 years, and Elandris became Scrapmaster (year 1447) through her general contributions, though she never gave up the Engine project.

Gender Identity

Elandris goes with she/her pronouns and presents herself as a female, though leaning to the butch side of fashion and sensibilities.

Sexuality

Elandris is a lesbian.

Education

Elandris studied as an apprentice under Sigjorn Steelforge, one of the original scrappers. Sigjorn taught her everything, from vehicle repair to prosthetics to weapon fabrication.

Employment

Elandris was born into a scrapper family, and worked through the ranks since childhood. When her master Sigjorn died, she inherited his role of expedition leader, and eventually rose through the ranks until she became head of the Scrappers.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Elandris's crowning achievement is her discovery of the Engine Facility, an excavation that yielded upwards of twenty tonnes of new material for Regent Hill, and her knowledge of warforged, being one of the few people in Regent Hill capable of rebuilding damaged warforged.

Failures & Embarrassments

Despite discovering the Engine, she has not managed to make it work thus far, and her continued investment of resources into the Engine Project has brought on some questioning voices in the Scrapper hierarchy about her validity as leader.

Mental Trauma

Elandris has an unhealthy obsession with the Engine Project, and her determination to complete it has been cited by many as a reason why she should be removed from power.

Intellectual Characteristics

Logical, emotionally distant. Cold, and calculating.

Morality & Philosophy

Elandris believes the world is a playground for those with great intellect. She does not think there is a challenge too great that a keen mind cannot solve it, and evaluates all things in possibility rather than morality. Intelligence more than faith or strength or charisma is that which would determine the fate of the world.
