Urullak

(a.k.a. The Golden King)

The younger brother of the evil god and leader of the Dark Orc Pantheon Gruumsh One Eye. However he was brought up a mortal orc and thus first hand saw the problems of his people that he wanted to fix. He is one of the gods that came into being after the events of Karsus' folly when the world was still starting back from the ground up. No one knows how he was born or who his parents are as Gruumsh's own lineage is rumored that he just came into being like the rest of the gods during The Dawn, but Gruumsh himself has confirmed that Urullak is his brother he cast out at birth.

Personal history

When Urullak was born, they say Gruumsh demanded a brother just like himself, and gouged out Urullak’s eye. Eventually Gruumsh threw his brother out into the cold recesses where gods barely go, casting Urullak to die because his older brother considered him too weak after the baby cried so much from losing his eye. Eventually Urullak was found and brought up by a mortal orc family. Growing up, Urullak did not realize his godhood and was simply considered blessed by them for his superior strength and fighting skills. He grew up seeing his people kept in caves and treated as savages by the other races and it broke his kind heart, for in his eye Orcs had much to offer for the benefit of the world, and the world had much to offer the Orcs by opening up and learning about other races and cultures. Once he was old enough and became the leader of his tribe, he decided to lead his people out of the caves and create settlements wherever they wished, that wasn’t already taken of course. Eventually several conflicts with other races arose, and Urullak’s kind heart and way with words swayed the races away from war and fights and simply to co-exist with his people. He became known throughout the lands for his unyielding love and tolerance for all races, never judging by blood, but by character and soul. They say his heart was made of the purest gold because of his good will and was given the name of The Golden King.   His acts and skills made their way to the gods themselves, including Gruumsh, who was angered with Urullak for making peace with other races, unaware it was the baby brother he had cast out. In a furious attempt to destroy Urullak, Gruumsh sent monster after monster and disaster after disaster to try and kill Urullak and his growing kingdom. But Urullak defeated every beast with ease and fixed every disaster that Gruumsh had thrown at him, including the legend of pulling the earth back together as it threatened to crack right under his city, and with a simple sneeze blew away the biggest storm Grummsh called forth. At his wits end, Gruumsh finally came down himself to challenge Urullak to a fight to the death. As the two clashed, Gruumsh was shocked, appalled, and terrorized that the supposed mortal orc was matching every blow the evil God was giving and even overpowering the one eyed Deity. The battle ended with Urullak prevailing and proving to every god that he was indeed one of them, Gruumsh realizing this was his abandoned brother and in his shame begged for an honorable death from his defeat. But Urullak spared Gruumsh, offering him and the other gods a chance to make peace with one another. Gruumsh, shamed by his own younger brother, not only denied Urullak’s offer, but vowed to kill him and end Orc harmony with other races. After this, he was happily accepted by other Good Deities and began his godhood to promote peace among races and spread his creed “No race is more better than any other. It is the person, not their heritage, that decides their skills and abilities.”
