Škodljive Swampland
There is absolutely no dry ground to be found anywhere. Gotta climb a tree to have a dry place to sleep. Next problem will be dealing with this infernal bug swarm!
Overview
The Škodljive is a great expanse of swampland full of a variety of dangers. The first is the standing water that sits practically everywhere. Diseases are known to run rampant in this area. Great swarms of mosquitos and biting flies are known to wander in the area and to suck the blood of almost every living thing they can find. As such, few kinds of wildlife will venture into this area effectively leaving it as a kind of citadel for the bugs. Even fewer people attempt to live here. One can find the swamp to the south west of the Dulkėtas Dykuma desert, on the northern side of Miren Bay.I'm not even near that swamp and the racket is keeping me up tonight. Maybe the bugs are traveling further this year.
Summer Noise
During the hot and humid summer months, the swamp is abuzz with the loud racket of Annual Cicada. Unlike the ordinary kind, this cicada shows up year after year. This is just one more reason people tend to avoid the swampland. Luckily for the surrounding region, and the Söngleikur Forest on the southern shores of Miren, the Annual Cicada does not travel far from the swampland. No one is sure of the why.Noxious Fog, Acidic Rain
Perhaps the real reason many kinds of wildlife avoid this swampland is due to the noxious fog that float against its still waters. This fog is greatest during morning hours. This fog does not appear to originate from any natural feature or plant, and how long it will stay cannot be predicted. It is likely a manifestation of the wild magics left from the The Great Collapse. As if that weren't enough, whenever it rains there is a chance the wild magics here will turn what should be water into slow acting acid. This acid won't dissolve you immediately, but it sure will become mighty uncomfortable before too long. The bugs don't seem to mind this combination of hazards. In fact, they thrive despite it.Overgrown Ruins
Ruins from the The Ancient Order are scattered throughout this swampland. Most are difficult to recognize as unnatural constructs as they are often overgrown with plant life. These ancient ruins can be counted among the least disturbed due to the inhospitably of the bugs, fog, and acidic rain swampland.
