A Treasure Hunt for the Birthday Archivist

Overview

How does an Archivist celebrate yet another cycle of the season? With cake! However, they must find the cake.

Searching for Gifts and Cake

An activity where an archivist may utilize their skills for fun rather than for work. Each archivist must find the gifts their peers want to give them. Even the cake must be found. One does not proceed from nothing, after all there is only so much time in the day. The search is organized into a game where the other Archivists, in addition to hiding their gifts, lay out clues on where to find the gifts. The birthday person then spends the day tracking down the gifts.

Birthday Meal

Of course, what would a birthday be without a nice supper? For the Archivist supper precedes the treasure hunt. These meals are no more extravagant than those of your average Centrum citizen. Archivists are not rich by the usual measures after all.

A Confectionery Delight

This is most often a cake, though it can be other things depending upon market availability or preference. For some birthdays a kind of jelly tart is used. For others, cookies with the rare and valuable chocolate morsels sprinkled within. For Archivist Taenya Naïlo in particular prefers a pudding with a citrous flavor.

History

The traditions among the Archivists began when Archivist Enna threw a surprise treasure hunt for Archivist Taenya's birthday. The gesture was appreciated by Taenya. Everyone else- or most everyone else (Archivist Bob , Archivist Edward, and Arch Archivist Graue just wanted the pudding)- enjoyed the twist to the birthday formula.

Note(s) from the Archivists:

We should actually go on a treasure hunt next time. That could be really fun! - Archivist Enna   I think so too, so long as its somewhere close by and free of monsters. - Archivist Taenya Naïlo   The monsters would make it more fun though. - Archivist Edward
