Overview

The crowned leader of the [Kingdom of Helia], Vimak's ambition and tactical prowess has seen the Kingdom engage in several successful campaigns that have expanded the eastern frontier of the Kingdom. These series of brutal victories had earned the Kingdom the title of "Golden Blight" among many survivors who have escaped capture by the Helians. Vimak is the third in his royal line to hold the name.
While this can be difficult to see under Vimak's iron grip, his reign as King has been divisive. Reports indicate that half of the population fully support the Kingdom's current imperial ambitions, but that the other half have become increasingly concerned that Helia's rapid conquests have made it a target for the rest of the continent. That is to say, some believe that one day the rest of the continent will unite against the Kingdom before it becomes an unassailable empire. In response to the growing discontent, the King has pushed for increased aggression from the military against the eastern foreign territories. It is said that King Vimak aims to control of the Eastern Occulus Gate within the next five years.

Bane of Assassins

Vimak is no stranger to assassination attempts, for he has had to contend with many. There are many who stand to gain by replacing or removing him as King of Helia, and they include internal and external factions. However, every attempt has ended in failure. Some assassinations are ended by the Golden Guard before they the attempt could reach the King. However, most have made it within striking distance of the King to their misfortune. Vimak enjoys a good fight so he is more than willing to allow assassins within his chambers as he claims they provide the best kind of practice. Most of these assassination attempts occurred early in the King's life. Now, they are very rare to the disdain of the King. Most assassins will pass up on the opportunity no matter the reward, but some are not in it for the coin so much as they are the challenge. So far, the King remains undefeated.
It should be noted that Vimak possesses an unusually high tolerance for poisons. Some claim he is outright immune while others believe that his limits are simply not known. The Royal Palace of Helia has yet to answer any questions on this subject.

Vimak wears a golden crown with a sun-stone embedded in its center. When the sun catches it just right, the King appears as a second sun.

Motivation

Vimak believes his singular purpose is the see that the Kingdom becomes the first empire since before The Great Collapse. At least that is the underlying motivation he does not hide. If there is any other forces motivating his actions, Vimak has kept it well hidden. Only his wife, Nephis Helia, may know his true inner thoughts.
