Plate Mail Armor

Overview

Plate mail armor is one of the most expensive pieces of metal work one could commission. Because of the intricacies of the construction of one of these protective suits, one must commission a custom fitted set to maximize both protection and mobility with minimal burden.

Cost

As one can imagine, plate mail armor is expensive due to the skill required to craft it. Knights, Nobles, and Royalty are among the upper classes with the resources to commission a fully functional set of plate mail armor. Wealth aristocrats are also known to have commission a set of armor from time to time, though they will hardly wear them.

Protection

Plate Mail armor offers the most complete protection of any armor currently in use in Awldor. Piercing weapons such as spears still pose a danger as well as any exotic weaponry. Also, plate mail will need to be combined with the use of magical spells or be imbued with Magic Runes before they offer any protection against spells.

You never realize how well a properly fitted set of armor can move until you see a properly fitted set of armor in action. A well armored and trained knight is not a trivial adversary.

Mobility

Contrary to popular opinions among common folk, properly made plate mail armor does in fact allow for almost the full range of motion of its wearer.
