Sistipant

Overview

Sistipants are six-legged pack animals that are native to the continent of Seldranon. The creatures have been transported throughout Axeram and serve as effective loadbearing animals when travelling across the land.

Physical Appearance

Sistipants are large muscular creatures standing at roughly 10ft in height and 16ft in length. Their hides are thick and leathery. Generally coming in earthen shades of browns and sandy golds. All six of their legs possess wide flat feet to make their travel across Seldranon's deserts easier. They have fairly lupine snouts with rows of sharp teeth, allowing them to tear flesh from bone. Their eyes are completely black and sit at the front of their head.

In the Wild

Sistipants when in the wild live in small herds. To get their food they stampede smaller animals killing them beneath the weight of their bodies. Afterwards, they return to feast on the carcasses. Within the ecosystem of Seldranon, they only have one natural predator, sandworms. Until they became tamed by the Veldren.

Within Society

During the Ven era, the Veldren who ruled over Seldranon discovered a way to break and tame the sistipants. Turning them into pack animals capable of carrying six people or less with supplies. When the Southern Sands Trading Company was formed they tried to sell sistipants as work animals to the rest of Axeram. However, only southern Valothmir purchased sistipants as their climate suited the beasts well. Cities within Seldranon and southern Valothmir all have utilities and stables designed to keep and look after the large beasts. These take the form of Large stables and are kept to the outside of settlements as the creatures do not enjoy being confined to cobbled streets.
