Wuuar of Myr
“You shall reunite with your master once you find his shield”
Cursed by a k'nksh witch, Myr is a lone wuuar tuprani wandering Amaarion. The witch had a cruel sense of humour as she merged Myr’s owner with his shield and fused him to the creature’s back. Tales of the roaming tuprani spread throughout the lands. Over the centuries, people mistakenly believed Myr to be the master’s name, thus he became the Wuuar of Myr.
Myr views the shield as his flesh and an inseparable piece of himself. Even upon viewing its reflection, he can’t recognise the fused shield as the item he’s been searching for. Like other tupranis, Myr can’t speak and lacks the intelligence to share his story. He occasionally stays in nomad camps to rest and carry on the journey.
Capture
During one such visit, k’nksh raided the camp, taking several women and capturing Myr. The wuuar thrashed and snapped at the attackers, yet all his attempts were futile. For several years, he hauled k’nksh raiders, chained captives and Pillars of the Eternal Sleep across the wastelands. The Fateful Encounter
One day, Pharidan, a lone dharaat, sneaked inside a k’nksh settlement to steal a Pillar of the Eternal Sleep. He noticed a chained wuuar, with the pillar bound to its back, and approached the creature. As Myr snarled and lashed out, the heavy shackles rang, alerting nearby k’nksh. Pharidan broke the chains, hopped on Myr, and fled the settlement.
They ran until k’nksh’s crackling noises ceased. After slowing down, Myr shook the rider off and lunged to escape. But exhaustion overtook the wuuar’s body, forcing him to lie down. He growled at approaching Pharidan. The man moved with caution, cut the ropes and, with heavy grunts, took the pillar off the animal’s back. He placed water and dried meat near Myr’s nose and sat back.
Myr stood up with renewed vigour, still keeping his distance from the dharaat. Pharidan pulled the pillar over his shoulder and began walking. The smell of meat from his bag was too tempting and Myr strolled along, following the newfound companion.
