The Spiritkeeper Covert
The Spiritkeeper Covert is a group of people who were formerly from Ketra and who have chosen to live in a temporary camp northeast of the city in a small forest. The Covert is hidden from passersby and there are always guards posted around the edges of the forest. Spiritkeepers are folks who got fed up with Keizl and his criminal ways of running the city. They're merchants who got tired of paying for "protection," homeowners who couldn't afford his "taxes," and regular people who were scared to walk the streets because of the gangs he allowed to run rampant.
Demographics
There are people of all demographics in the Spiritkeeper Covert. Some have money, some do not. There are all age groups represented, from the very young to the very old. There are single people and families.
Government
There is a leader of sorts, to whom people come with complaints to be settled. There are rules that everyone has to follow and the leader doles out the punishment. Banishment is the most severe of the punishments, so the crime rate is low.
Industry & Trade
Many residents are artists and trade their work inside and outside of the community for a living. Others are merchants and continue their business out of wagons, traveling to do their sales. Still others are craftsmen, who get paid in trade or barter. The rest are farmers, whose livestock feed the community.
Infrastructure
It is still a tent city but there are beaten paths between the tents that form roads of sorts. The tents are laid out in a logical fashion, with the leader's tent in the middle. The residents constructed fences for their animals.
Assets
The residents have begun to stockpile grain in a facility they just finished. They also work together to hunt and dry meat to store.
History
In 1878, a small group of merchants and tradesmen got together and talked privately about their troubles with Keizl, the corrupt town leader. They made the decision with their families to leave Ketra and travel many miles to hide from him. Over time, more people heard about the settlement and joined them. It is a closely guarded secret and, from the beginning, newcomers have been blindfolded as they were escorted through the woods and to the settlement. The leader and her council make all decisions regarding new settlers.

The Spiritkeeper Covert has been magically enchanted so no one can just blunder into the camp and find it.

Geography
The Covert is located inside a small forest, on top of a hill. There is a stream running along the bottom of the hill on the southwest side.
Climate
Cold, wet winters and short, hot summers.

Wood from the forest, fresh water from the stream, plenty of game.
