Khona
Khona is the capital of Berk.
Government
The government of Berk, especially the Council of Lords and the Overlord of Berk, is centered in Khona. However, local law and order is overseen by a governor. As this governor is also on the Council of Lords as a representative of the region in which Khona is established, a regent governor truly oversees things in the elected governor's stead.
Defences
Khona is defended by a series of wat towers that dot the city, and by a large city guard. The Berk military is also based in Khona, but mainly to train, not as a defensive garrison.
Industry & Trade
With Khona being the capital of Berk and therefore the seat of government, all industry connected to printing is booming. The details of the debates in the Council of Lords are printed daily for all to read, as are speeches, and laws as they are written. Bound collections of debates, speeches, and laws are published often. This booming publishing industry has also allowed authors and poets to find success. Artists who make political sketches also find success publishing their works, especially when they are humorous jokes at the expense of members of the Council.
Infrastructure
Khona is known for its cobbled streets and underground sewer network. Rainwater is collected and funneled to a central well that is used by all city residents.
Districts
While Khona is not physically divided into sections, there is a clear arrangement of neighborhoods made up of people from different regions of Berk. All members of the Council of Lords bring staff and families with them when they move to Khona for their sessions in government, and some of those people choose to remain in Khona perminently. When new visitors arrive with the new sessions, they naturally find places to live close to people originally from their region. This has led to neighborhoods with unique regional feel, that are also distinctly Khonian.
Guilds and Factions
The most powerful guilds in Khona are the printers, bookbinders, and paper millers.

Khona was a selected for the capital of Berk because it is accessible to people from all regions, and it is located on a flat plain that allows for visibility all around.
Natural Resources
There are several tree farms that have been planted around Khona to meet the need for paper in the city.
