The world is one of eight planetary bodies in the solar system which comprises the celestial space of Az-Atla. It is the third planet from its solar body, and the only planetary body which sustains life.

The world is cognizant and alive.
The transition space between land and sea (beaches) provides the mechanism for conscious thought in the form of wave generation.
Land volume masses generate rational understanding.
Water volume masses generate emotional understanding.
Biomass (animals/plants) acts as neural transmitters between volume masses.
It is possible for some biomass to gain insight into the world mind in the form of gestalt pattern recognition at a macro organizational level (instinctual behaviour, race memories, mystical abilities).
Corrective measures must sometimes be taken to ensure that the biomass is managed properly for proper thought and health.

Biological Cycle:
The species that Ao is a member of is one as ancient as worlds. It is entirely probable that species Ao are the only 'planets' that support biological life. How they live, what they do, and where they are are mysteries which will most likely remain so, due to the celestial scale of their life span.
Some time in the past Ao decided to remain in orbit around this particular solar body. The reasons unfathomable, perhaps the solar winds were just the right flavour. Ao remained and it attracted celestial debris to its orbit to create four moons. And, in due time, Ao proceed with its life which happened to also generate life. Did Ao support life while it travelled through deep space? Mystery. But, with the energy of a just right solar body, Ao manifested life as a necessity of its own process to generate Ee-Loque.
Time continued onward and Ao continued to live and eventually it was time to absorb the first moon. Ee'Logue guided the moon into Ao, adjusting both masses and incorporating them. This caused planet-wide shifts in the fundamental structure of Ao. Mass and density changed, axial tilt changed, orbit shifted and continents sunk and rose from oceanic depths. Through this integration of mass and energy Ao moved into the next phase of its life. What life lived upon Ao, adapted or died. Time continued.
57,000 years ago Ao absorbed the second of its four moons.
At that time Ao was host to a single sentient race. Their scientists were aware that the moon would collide with Ao, and as a civilization they completed the great endeavour; the casting of their civilization free of Ao. Hundreds of millions were sacrificed, and hundreds of millions where lost, so that some small number would live.
Now Ao has many sentient races upon its shoulders. Now the Realm of Az-Atla dominates one of its two major land masses. Now the Devouring Mother pits her will and vision in an epic struggle for revenge that is 57,000 years in the planning.
Time will move forward. Two remaining moons will be absorbed and Ao will have doubled or tripled its mass. What will happen then? Uncertainty.
