Discourses with Veratha

Those who follow the tenants of the god Veratha speak of a direct connection to them. This connection being a singular felt sense of connecting directly with the god. Through history many of Veratha's followers recorded these experiences. And, as history progressed, it was clear to those who recorded these experiences and the priesthood of Veratha, that these recorded experiences shared similar themes, ideas, and where in truth a conversation being held by Veratha with all of those faithful at once.

One conversation.
One god.
One body of the faithful.

The priests and churches of Veratha are dedicated to collecting and curating these personal conversations with the faithful. So many personal conversations have been collected over the years that numerous volumes have been created; thousands. These volumes have been stored in the great temples at each of the capitals and various sections, pieces and copies have been made available to the citizens of the realm, so that they may come to understand as much of the great conversation as they care to.

On any given day the failthful can be found telling their experiences to the priests of Veratha. It is perhaps the most important task that the priests have in their minds. These pieces of the great conversation eventually, become personal volumes that are given to the faithful.
They have simple titles like:
Volume on Future Life Works.
Volume on Daily Tasks.
Volume on Memories.
or
Volume on Memories about Pets.

If enough parts of the greater conversation are collected that speak to a theme, then a volume is created. It would be impossible for every priest to be familiar with all of the titles and contents of the volumes, so many faithful go on pilgrimages to find those priests knowledgeable of the topic and thus the corresponding volume they are interested in reading.

Purpose

This ia an ongoing collection of personal experiences. These experiences as a whole are considered holy as they are fragments of the Great Conversation between the faithful and Veratha. In these conversation volumes is contained the wisdom of the god themselves.

From the - Volume on Taking a Long Trip

It was an early morning, and I was preparing to go Virr-La for the Feast of Songs. It was a long trip from my village. Five days walk, and I had to walk because Borroden needed the horses.
I'd been thinking about the different recipes I would bring to share and trade. It was a good year for me. More dishes worked out then not, much family's relief. And, as I was standing there ... I knew that Veratha as with me.
I could feel her, there in the bathroom with me. I was still getting ready, and I knew that this was important. That preparing for a long journey began with making sure you're clean and have everything you need to be clean.
I quietly washed my hands and trimmed my nails. Veratha glowed, well not glowed in the sense of bright light, but in the sense of approval. I knew that this was the right thing to do. Then I cleaned my teeth and tongue. I could tell that it was a good thing that I was doing. Veratha let me know by having a small bird fly into the bathroom through the window rest on the shelf. It just chirpped and sung the whole time.
Wash your hands, trim your nails, and clean your mouth before long trips. I mean its so simple when you think about it, but of course Veratha is like that, simple and peaceful.
I finished and Veratha left me, so did the little bird. It was so beautiful. I'd never seen a bird like that before.

From the - Volume on Doorways

It was during the afternoon, I was standing on the balcony of my family's apartments in Gar NourAza watching the clouds. Our apartments are high, so it was not uncommon to see the mountain tops of Aut'tep'ko displayed beneath through breaks in the clouds like silent shoals of slow majestic fish swimming in a roiling white ocean. 
Veratha came to me then; as I turned; looking away.
Before me was their presence as I looked at the doorway leading back into my home. It was a way back. Behind me was Aut'tep'ko harsh, barren, loved by many and the end of many. And, in front of me, through that door, was the one place were I was safe. The one place were warmth and care were assured. All I had to do was walk through that doorway, and that was Veratha. A door way.
It was a moment surely, and when I think back on it, it does seem completely stupid. Orcs are a hard people because of our land. We are hard. To think that in my home was anything more then my family and the trials of raising proper Orcs is a foolish thought. 
And... Veratha shows us that doorways happen all the time; complicated.
