The Songs of Hernish

These are the collected works of those who worship and exalt the God Hernish. Traditionally, these works are sung in worship during holy days and celebrations. Many devoted followers spend a significant amount of time learning these works and practicing them. It is common to recognize a follower of Hernish because they will often sing or verbalize passages they are learning or enjoy as they go about their daily work.

The principles and values of Hernish are contained within these collected works. Many great Hernish leaders, philosophers, laypeople who have exemplified a proper Hernish life, and even others who are not believers, have contributed to this body of songs.
The Songs often touch on topics of the mundane giving advice and direction on how to live daily life. Some provide insight into the discovering the right and proper way of doing something. A fair number of  songs, illuminate more esoteric topics such as the nature of Ee-Loque or discuss the nature of romance.

For many of the devoted the songs provide a deeper meaning and understanding of the world and universe as they reveal truths in the varied and diverse manners of performance. No congregation of Hernish performs the songs the same way, and many participate in regular competitions to not only display their skills, but to also demonstrate a deeper understanding of the divine knowledge given to them by Hernish.
"The words are ours, as we are inspired by Hernish. The song is his."
B'gothe Zamanera - High Priest of Hernish, Nur-ymir
