Weezil
Weezil
Weezil's earliest memories were the dirty streets. He has no idea how he got there or where he came from. Even as a young child of a few years, he dug through rubbish for food and stole things he needed. As he grew, he saw that most beings had parents. Weezil never had any parents. The vermin of the streets were his family. He had never been given a name, as that must be something parents do. His name came from the many times the town guard, screamed at him and chased him for stealing blankets, clothes, or food. The drunks and teens would look for Weezil on their walks home late at night, enjoying beating him and taunting the little beast. After a few beatings, he learned how to hide and run from them, bit still caught beatings often. He was treated no different than the rats and street animals that he tried to nurture and protect. Street life was hard, but it made Weezil stronger.
As Weezil grew older, he found it calmer in the woods near town. He would still sneak into town to get things he needed, but he was much safer waking up to a rummaging bear than to an armed guard. Over time, he began to understand the animals around him, in the woods and in the alleyways. Somehow, they began to understand him as well, and they became his family. He began to become one with the nature around him, able to manipulate the blades of grass and the temperature of the air around him. Weezil could feel the life around him and knew that it was the only family he needed.
One night, he felt like he was being watched. Piercing eyes bore down on him from high in the trees. He could see a giant owl, watching him quietly for several minutes before it flew off. For many nights, the owl watched him, and finally, Weezil spoke out to it, inviting him down. The owl came back for many visits over the next few months, becoming close friends. One night, the owl revealed his true form, a halfling druid, and began teaching Weezil how to transform and to use the spirit of nature around him to protect himself and his furry friends. The halfling, Jasper, came every night for nearly a year. One night he said his teaching of Weezil would have to be enough because it was time for him to move on. Weezil's only bipedal friend was off flying through the night. Perhaps one day, they will meet again.
Weezil is now a grown man, having remembered the passing of at least 7 or 8 years. He is not completely sure how old he is, but he knows that it is time for him to move on. He knows that there is a great big world our there and it is calling for him. With his best friend, Cheez the rat, in his pocket, Weezil is off to find adventure. He has a bright future and plans ahead of him, the animals have told him so. He plans to learn to read and to eventually have a cottage to fill with all of his animal friends. He knows that he may have to fight, as he sometimes had to in the streets and in the surrounding woods, but he will be a hero. He will search for those unable to care for themselves and help them along the way. Weezil also hopes to one day make his own family, and may even try to have friends other than the animals. Maybe...
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Weezil is tiny by goblin standards. He is just barely considered an adult and is obviously the runt of his litter. His arms are thin and bony and he looks frail with a distended belly most of the time.
Body Features
He has tiny black horns on his forehead. His skin is soft and green. He has patches of dirt at all times, as he hates to bathe.
Facial Features
His face is soft and childlike with large orange eyes that dart about at every sound. His tiny, upturned nose twitches as various smells carry by on the wind. Thin lips frame tiny yellowed teeth with a fanged underbite, often turned into a bewildered grin. Large pointed ears jut out to the side of his head, sagging in a meek and demure way. Just above the goblin's brow, tiny black horns poke through the mottled skin. A thin tuft of orange hair runs along the center of his head and in patches along his ears. The hair hangs down to his neck in a thin knot, with various colours or bone and stone beads dangling on the ends.
Physical quirks
He tends to cower when talking to people he is unfamiliar with. He isn't shy, but has a long history of being beaten and behaves like an abused animal. His eyes commonly dart around the area, always watching his surroundings. Sometimes, he takes on animal quirks as he spends a lot of time as various animals. He will pick his hand and smooth his hair, use his foot to scratch his ear, and smell people if he can get by with it.
Apparel & Accessories
Weezil 's studded leather armor is dirty and has bits of moss growing on it. Brown leather straps run down his forearms, with various colored feathers dangling from them. His faded red jerkin is in disrepair and his breeches sag from his thin body, obviously not tailored to one of his stature. About his neck hangs a totem with a rat, a wolf, and a bear. Makeshift boots of wood and leather straps adorn his gnarled feet. About his waist is a belt, cinched tighter than it was designed for to fit his tiny form. From the belt hangs a dented and dinged scimitar, a full waterskin, a clean new dagger, and a leather pouch. In his left hand is a beaten wooden shield adorned with sticks and leaves. Upon his back, Weezil carries a small pack and a brown cloak with a tuft of fur at the neck, more suited to an elegant woman than a goblin on an adventure. The fur about his neck was once ermine white, but is now brown with dirt and wear, with pits of leaves and thorns stuck to it. Nestled within the fur is his friend, Cheez the brown rat.
