Thalrian Guilderglade (thal-ree-anne gild-der-glayde)

"I am not afraid of my destiny. Predetermined or not, I will gladly sacrifice my life for this land"

Avatar of the Celestials Thalrian Leoric Guilderglade (a.k.a. Chi'Li)

Thalrian Guilderglade was a priest of the light who was forced to flee his homeland as it fell to The Scourge invasion and purge of the Kingdom. Losing consciousness alone on an abandoned naval vessel, Thalrian would wash up in ruin on the shores of Pandaria.
Nursed back to health by a wandering Pandaren, he would commit himself to his new life, learning the Way of the Monk from his new master, Gymer The Wandering Ox.
Upon the completion of his training with Gymer, Thalrian set upon the pilgrimage to visit each of the Celestial Temples in Pandaria. First was the Temple of the Jade Serpent, a monastery that had been in Thalrian's eye line for his entire stay thus far in Pandaria, residing in the Jade Forest.
Yu'Lon would greet Thalrain forlornly, stating that the Avatar had finally been brought upon them. The Avatar of the Celestials, as it was explained to Thalrian, was a monk who would be able to invoke the power of all four of the celestial gods of Pandaria at a time of the land's greatest need, and that it would give the forces of Pandaria a chance in vanquishing an othering insurmountable foe.
Thalrian would ask Gymer if he had known about his destiny and trained him anyway effectively for slaughter in the name of the land that wasn't his. Gymer knew and didn't disclose the information to protect his beloved apprentice.
Thalrian would walk away from his master, setting out into Pandaria to complete his training and prepare for what he now saw was inevitable.
Thalrian would visit the Temple of the White Tiger and Ninzao Temple, home of the Shado-Pan, where these two celestials confirmed Yu'Lon's prophecy for Thalrian. The Shado-Pan sensed the presence of deep emotional trauma within Thalrian, and banished him from Pandaria in order to limit the risk of the Sha corrupting him.
He made his way south, where on his way to a quiet secluded location he stumbled into the Temple of the Red Crane. Chi'Ji too greeted Thalrian as the Avatar of the Celestials, but this being and their monks took Thalrian in and gave him space and training, not in martial combat, but in dealing with the Sha and accepting inevitabilities he couldn't control.
Here, Thalrian would rise as Master of the Way of the Crane, and would use the foresight he was granted to reach out past the mists, and discover that there were still people alive in his homeland; that his beloved survived the slaughter now some decade ago.
***
Thalrian returned to the home of his former master, expressing understanding and forgiveness, now having walked the same journey of the Way of the Monk and expelled his Sha as best he could. His master also apologised, and aided Thalrian, acquiring what he needed to emerge from the mists and go home.

Day 22
22 days after Azeroth changed

Rest at the Bulwark has given me time to meditate and commune with Chi'Ji. The Red Crane has used the information Kayenier gathered on The Cabalist and the Inquisitor to make an incredible discovery. Chi'Ji senses 9 sources of power similar to that of The Cabalist. So one can only assume there are 9 of these beings active on Azeroth. Somewhere. We have so far been able to terminate 3 that I know of: The Cabalist and The Inquisitor in Pandaria, and a being known as The Infiltrator has been destroyed by Kayenier's allies Kalanon, Ahriman and others. Kayenier has tracked down another in Kalimdor, but I must see this quest with Kalanon and his allies through until completion. I have confidence in my beloved, even if her new allies seem a little rough around the edges. I will continue on this quest to open the Eastern Kingdoms for the Grand Army of Azeroth, and then on to Northrend to search for more of the Cabalist's kin. T.G

Day 19
19 days after Azeroth changed

I am awake. Alive... Again. I'm not sure how to describe my time as one with Pandaria. Kayenier assures me it was less than three weeks to her, but I feel as if I was borne across a vast ocean of creation for a millennia at least. I saw past and present intermingle, thousands of years of Pandaren history played out before me, and I was finally at peace after all that time anticipating the end. But I felt a pull I did not recognise, when Emperor Shaohao became one with Pandaria, he had no burdens, no attachments of any kind, and so it was easy for him to fade away from his present and simply be; I did not have such an experience. Kayenier was always my anchor once I found her again, and even as one with Pandaria it was her life I reached out for. She was my tether. I felt that tether tug, and whirl away across the cosmos to this dark reflection of Azeroth, and so my spirit followed. Kayenier and her allies expelled The Cabalist once and for all, but they are trapped here in this place, and I failed in my duty to them. Now we are all stuck here, and I am again mortal, the powers that allowed me to defeat the Cabalist gone, leaving just the boy that was underneath. Hope has come in a new form though, Kayenier has merged with Yu'Lei, and now possesses similar celestial powers as I. Hopefully together we can begin to unwrap the mystery of this place. She has agreed to scout over Kalimdor, and I the Eastern Kingdoms, with the aim to meet at the Nexus and join up with the allies we know will be there. Maybe we will make a few new friends in this place. Chi'Ji guide me, for my path winds a new corner. T.G

Day 21
21 days after Azeroth changed.

Day 21. It has been 3 weeks since The Cabalist latched onto Chronormu and changed everything. My work was done and my destiny fulfilled, I had saved Pandaria by channeling the August Celestials, and bought the peace for my allies and family with my life. It turns out this was not the case. This dark reflection of Azeroth is just the beginning of the puzzle laid out before me. The Cabalist has allies, 'brothers' they call themselves, all with the seemingly single interest of bringing forth a being known as 'The Mother' onto Azeroth. Who this mother is still eludes me, but I have made some progress on identifying the brothers. We have The Cabalist, who was seemingly purged on the Veiled Stair by Kayenier and her allies, The Inquisitor who met Kayenier at the Temple of the Jade Serpent to seek vengence, and now The Infiltrator appears here looking for Kalanon as vengence for The Cabalist. I sit here now under the stars, keeping watch over Kachall and Kalanon as they take their turn sleeping, wondering if the chaos of this new world will be enough to allow The Mother to unleash whatever evil they have locked away. No, I must remain hopeful, the Celestials returned me to the mortal place because my mission is not finished, and because they have faith that we will see it through. Even in the darkness, a flicker of light remains. T.G.
