Gynassi

Current Month: Julwar 2nd: 209, The Fifth Age
The Gynassi aren't a race unto themselves, rather, they are either magic users who summoned to much power, or the descendants of such magic users.   How a Gynassi is made   Wizards and Sorcerors are always seeking more power. When too much energy is drawn into their mortal forms, one of three things could occur; they retain the energy and suffer only minor injuries and live to cast another day, The can spontaneously explode which results in instand death, or the arcane elements they tried to summon consumes them, and transmogrifies their forms into something new, a Gynassi, a being of elemental composition.   Gynassi are still able to produce children, and like a recessive gene, some of those children may become Gynassi themselves, until over time the trait dies out in the bloodline. Even the union of two Gynassi isnt a guarantee of producing a Gynassi child.   Gynassi resemble humans but have unusual skin color (red, green, blue, or gray), and there is something odd about them. The elemental blood flowing through their veins manifests differently in each gynassi, often as magical power.   Seen in silhouette, a gynassi can usually pass for human. Those of earth or water descent tend to be heavier, while those of air or fire tend to be lighter.   Some gynassi live as outcasts, driven into exile for their unsettling appearance and strange magic, or assuming leadership of savage humanoids and weird cults in untamed lands. Others gain positions of great influence, especially where elemental beings are revered.   Types of Gynassi   Usually the type of Gynassi the individual or offspring becomes is determined by the magic used during the event. Fire magic creates Ignarii, water and frost Aquarii, and so on.   Ignarii - Fire Gynassi   Aquarii - Water Gynassi   Terrarii - Earth Gynassi   Zephyrii - Air Gynassi
