Goliath

After the first humans passed the mountains after the Severance, they came into contact with the giants. This contact eventually lead to the mating of the two branches. The offspring of this union became what is now known as a goliath. Not belonging to either humans or giants they eventually formed their own clans together and developed their own culture. Much of goliath society is based on competition and survival of the fittest. Those that cannot contribute are worthless to the clan.

Civilization and Culture

Major Organizations

The Kith:

Were once a mediocre clan who used to keep to themselves among the Silent Summits. They preferred the culture of the Stone Giants they began to expand into Voldari territory and sparked a war between the two clans. This war lead to the massacre of the Kith clan.

The Voldari:

The Voldari goliath tribe chose faith when establishing its order. With each new generation, a child is blessed by one they call Othor, patron of the Voldari.

The Black Bloods:

The Black Blood Pride of goliaths are the southern most residing pride with some groups of them roaming south of the Silent Summits. They believe that the lands in which they roam belong to them and are theirs to use and benefit from. They detest the static cities of man and see their own nomadic lifestyle as superior. They establish this control by robbing travelers of the goods they carry as payment. For the few villages that have been erected within their territory, they extort goods in return for not sieging.

The Ferox:

The Ferox follow Tharizdun, Titan of Madness, and ingest a special plant that gives them a crazy high while stripping them of mental functions. They consider this plant of the Mad Titan himself and consider it a pride to go into this state. It has a lasting impact on their clan as a whole. On the battlefield, they fight with reckless abandon a hard style to take on the first time. This being the case, they often prey on those who appear to be less experienced and not aware of their tactics often overpowering them through sheer intimidation and wild swinging. Since the plant they ingest is a mild anasthetic they are able to shrug off damage that might make a sober opponent think twice about getting closer.

The Imir:

The Imir pride lives near the God Corpse of Othor. They are pacifists who protect the corpse from those that try to explore it and protect the rest of the Snow Lands from the beasts that escape from the corpse.

History

Long ago in the Age of the Divine, there lived a kingdom of half-giants called Gyaneholme. There lived a might house that ruled over the half-giants. His rule, the rule of King Arurbar, was mighty and just. The king bore one son by his wife, queen of the Giantborn, Queen Frekja the Fair. His son was named Urbar the First, destined for greater conquest than his father. What came to be known as the Five Jotuns were born to separate women who are forgotten to time. His bastards are as follows: Ferox, Imir, Voldar, Temkos 'the Blackblood', and Kith.
