Widespread unrest rocks the cities of the eastern seaboard.
Disputes over the unexpected failure to raise the level of basic income to match rising cost of living spark riots in expensive East Coast cities. Thousands are temporarily detained and demerits are recorded against their identities. Hundreds are injured. Numbers vary on those killed. Riots and unrest last for several weeks before the federal government allows Patronage 200 companies emergency powers to which they were not previously afforded. These are promised to be temporary, but in reality appear indefinite.
