The Ring of Hell

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The ring's frame is made out of fine silver. The main component is the tamiloa painite chunk embedded in the ring. It has a soft, pulsating glow of blood red beneath its red-orange outer. Tamiloa painte is often associated with dark casting and it is known as the stone of Hell. This belief is because of the rumours that tamiloa painite are shards of rocks and debris from Hell itself.

History

Duchess Blythe the Blaze went on a secret quest and when she returned, she had the Ring of Hell. She refused to talk about her quest and the ring's origin.   During wars, disputes were caused as both sides wanted her to fight for them. She usually went into hiding or disguised herself and worked as a paramedic.   Since she was a member of the Flassi Class, she helped in the post-conflict restoration by growing plants and trees. She was able to use the spell, fravira enco, and she was responsible for the most powerful instance of the spell. This created the Linstere Forest which eventually split into the Lentrin Forest and the Pallriat Forest.   Currently, it is stored in a safe vault that is deep underground. The exact location of the vault is secret but it is said to be somewhere near the Duchess' burial site.

Significance

The Ring of Hell strengthened the Duchess. She was able to defend towns and forests alone during night watches meant for fourteen soldiers. Her magical abilities were also increased.   Many beings tried to wield the power of the Ring of Hell after she passed. Their attempts resulted in failure. Their punishment was that they slowly faded away, turning more ghostly every second. After 2 - 3 months, they would be as delicate as a feather and the wind would whisk them away. Sometimes, soft ghostly screams were heard where they died.   Those who were forced to put the ring on were met with a different fate. If they had no intention of using it, they recieved a small shower of flowers which is known as 'The Blessing of Blythe'. However, they still recieved the wrath of Hell, they faded away but they got to experience a full life. By the time they died, the beings were translucent and delicate.
