Grand Arcane Tournament

A massive tournament for entertainment and to decide who will become next Grand Arcanist. It is a week-long tournament held every two years at the end of the 2nd year. The tournament is based on a point system. The first two days are all practical exams and written tests. From that, they seed each magic caster into one massive bracket based off of your points from the previous two days. The battles are fierce and full of magical energy. The Arcane Dome is the large arena used for these fights. Tickets to watch sell out instantly and the people of Zecria stop everything to go watch the fights. In total there are 50 participants. Half of which are handpicked by the Council of Mages, and the other half are randomly selected from a pool of ambitious hopefulls. The participants are not limited at all by gender, race, or background. The winner of the tournament goes on to face the current Grand Arcanist in an intense magic battle. The winner there will automatically become the new Grand Arcanist. Long may they reign!
