Vridi Region
The Vridi's were the first family to establish settlement in the continent of Baephios. The founding father, Kaiser Vridi, a man of legend claimed Baephios as mankind's own and started shaping the early stages of the Vridium Empire. Several years after Kaiser's death the Rigby family, whom Kaiser was very close with, took over per Kaiser's request of the Kingdom. This is when the Vridium Empire was officially under the rule of the Rigby family. The name stayed in honor of the Vridi family still alive, but the Empire eventually spit into four regions of power ruled by four royal houses. Rigby, Vridi, Umberto, and Von Bloot these are the four royal houses of the Empire.
The Vridi Empire takes up the Western side of the Frozen Plains as well as part of the massive wheat fields in the center of the Empire. Currently all but one Vridi were plagued by a mysterious illness casusing all but Duke Curtis Marrow Vridi. While he has given up his ruling role to the Spears family for his family's region he was given the title of "Duke" by the King the second most powerful title in the Empire.
The Vridi Region is home to a large portion of the cursed frozen north as well as the mythical bastion of a city known as Vasldor, Free Nation of the Empire. While they have no allegience to the Empire through law. They have an agreement with the Vridi Region to do trade and continue using their sacred land and city.
This Region is also home to some of the most fearsome wild giants. Feral white Dire wolves and some even tell rumors of Haagu, Frost Monarch. But know one truly knows the existence of such a creature, adn if the legend is true then may the gods help us all.
Structure
This Region is maintained and ruled by the Spears family. Mainly known for the volcanic obsidian shards used for storing spells and strong enchantments. Despite their immense wealth the Spears family doesn't have that much pull in the political side of things and merely manage the region and keep the money rolling and people happy.
Duke Curtis Marrow Vridi still handles any official business from the current King of the Empire as his name and blood alone draws so much respect from the people of the Empire.
Culture
The Vridi Region is a very rich and fruitful region with not many poor individuals and good humble living and work. Farming isn't too easy here so fishing off the icy coast is popular. The people of this region are treated well by the Spears Family. There are always annual Harvest festivals and the most saught after holiday, Founding Day. A day to celebrate the Vridi family and all their hard work over the centuries. Games and fun insue often and is a warm area of the Empire.
Public Agenda
The Vridi Region is home to Syzygia an active volcano that remains active despite the curse of the Frozen King. Syzygia is a source of life for much of the life in the north. The warmth from the volcano draws several species to it. Unfortunetly the typical lush volcanic soil that would be fertile land is cursed and nothing can grow. The Public Agenda is to aid the retired King Jonathon Rigby VII in his research for a cure to the curse.
